When I started Southern Roots and Branches, it wasn’t just about research — it was about connection.

I’ve spent several years digging through records, visiting courthouses, walking old cemeteries, and piecing together family stories that time almost erased. What I’ve learned along the way is this: behind every document is a real person, and behind every family tree is a story that deserves to be told the right way.

This work is personal to me. I know what it feels like to wonder where you come from, to hit dead ends, or to have pieces of your family history that just don’t quite make sense. That’s why I approach every project as if it were my own family — with patience, attention to detail, and a genuine respect for the people we’re uncovering.

Most of my experience is rooted right here in the South, working through:

• Courthouse and vital records
• Land and probate documents
• Census and military records
• Church archives and cemeteries
• Complex family lines, including post–Civil War research

Some stories come together quickly. Others take time, persistence, and a willingness to go a little deeper. Either way, I’m committed to doing the work thoroughly and honestly.
